How many of you enjoyed watching Wales playing in daffodil yellow on Friday night? I for one can't say it filled me with the normal sense of pride I experience when watching our National Team playing. Who decided on the colour anyway?? What I am asking myself is, did it affect the actual players too? Morale seems to be very low for some reason, quite the opposite of how the team should be feeling considering they won the Grand Slam last season. Instead of charging onto the pitch looking as if they meant business, our boys looked embarrassed and awkward, not a good image to present methinks.
I don't consider myself an expert by any means of the imagination, just a fan who loves to follow our national rugby team. The game just didn't have the flow, the wings seemed to be forgotten, not for the first time either it seems; and most of the play seemed to be concentrated on grabbing the ball and using brute force (or bulk, no names mentioned but the number 2 springs to mind) to hurl themselves at the opposing team. Where has the skill of passing the ball on with quick hands out to the wings instead of selfishly keeping hold of it (in case it's their one and only chance of actually touching the ball during the whole game), ignoring the silent cries from the fans to "pass it out mun".
Maybe it's time to look at the way local Club rugby is played as during Internationals it seems there are different rules................anyone want to enlighten me?
I wonder what will happen during the Wales v New Zealand game on Saturday. Lets hope it will be a more positive team we see running out onto the pitch.......oh and boys, ditch the yellow shirts, they do nothing to enhance your physique's!
